The Control of Tobacco Products and Electronic Delivery Systems Bill (“the Bill”) was published by the department of health (“DoH”) for comment on 9 May 2018. The purpose of the Bill contemplated in the long title include, among others, “to regulate the sale and advertising of tobacco products and electronic delivery systems”, “to regulate the packaging and appearance of tobacco products and electronic delivery systems and to make provision for the standardisation of their packaging” and “to prohibit the sale of tobacco products and electronic delivery systems by means of vending machines” for example.
